Now that the year is coming to a close, it is that time when we can look back and reflect on the exciting year it has been for the Building Contractors Training Group. We moved over to independent status in April and the group has grown from strength to strength since then.

Our website went live this year and the group membership increased from 52 to 61 in a the space of a few months. We exceeded most of our targets set by CITB and delivered 50 training courses, just over half of which were either free or subsidised which equates to a record 524.5 training days.

The committee changed slightly this year with Jan moving into the position of Chair and Gary McDonnell becoming our Vice Chair and our new committee member, Gary Logan from Luddon Construction, joined us this month.

I would personally like to thank the committee for their support and the time they give up to help the group progress. I would also like to thank all the members who actively support the group because if it wasn’t for you the group would not be such a success.

On behalf of Jan, Walter, the two Gary’s and myself we would like to wish you all a happy and peaceful festive period and we look forward to the group evolving in the coming year.
